Work Shop on Gender Sensitization and Work Place Harassment on 14-07-2016

Tharuni Founder Member Dr. Mamatha Raghuveer and  Tharuni Advisory Board Member Surekha Adimulam, Director EPITOME, Hyderabad, were the Resource Persons for the Interactive Workshop on  'Gender Sensitization and Work Place Harassment' held at MCRHRDI, Jubilee hills on 14th July 2016.It was participated by Group- A and Group- B Officers of Hyderabad Zone, and 67th Batch- IRS (C&CE) Officer Trainees Group- 2.It was presided by Dr. R. Sakuntala IRS; Chief Commissioner Hyderabad & Visakhapatnam Zone.
Surekha presented on 'Gender Sensitization'. Sudha Koka IRS Addl. Commissioner addressed them on the Legal Provisions  of the Work Place Harassment. Dr. Mamatha Raghuveer presented on the Case studies on sexual harassment at workplace in different organisations. Tharuni  is Ex- Officio Member of the Sexual Harassment Committees in different Organisations in Telangana.

Workshop on Capacity building for young women

Tharuni coordinated with Nehru Yuva Kendra to conduct a three day workshop on capacity building to forty young women of Warangal District at Catholic Church, Mariapuram near Geesukonda from 9th to 11th October 2011. N.Y.K. Coordinator A.V. Vidya Sagar and Tharuni Director Dr.Mamatha and other Resource persons spoke on Reproductive Health,HIV AIDS, Personality Development, Legal Enactments pertaining to women etc, The young women  of 18 to 25 years of age participated very actively in the interactive sessions for three days.

Workshop on Effective implementation of J.J.Act by C.W.C on 6/09/11

The Child Welfare Committee, Warangal  District, organised a Workshop on effective implementation of Juvenile Justice Act on 6th September. A.L. Kismath kumar, Director, Juvenile Welfare and Correctional Services,was the Chief Guest on the occasion.He spoke in detail about the powers of C.W.C, Juvenile Justice Board and explained about Juvenile Justice Act 2006.
District Collector Rahul Bojja and Superintendent of Police Rajesh kumar ,I.P.S, spoke on the importance of child protection. Heads of line Departments like I.C.D.S. Labour Dept, Rajeev Vidya Mission Education, Health, Police,I.C.P.S.Members,N.G.Os  and Child Helpline Members attended the Workshop. C.W.C.Chair person Dr. Mamatha presented six months report on the activities  taken up by C.W.C in Warangal District.
